Mr. Kevin Harris, President
Kevin has over 10 years in the retail industry in banking, management and customer service. He has over 6 years in the education management industry and currently serves as the President of the Board of Directors of the Millennium Community School.
Kevin obtained a Bachelors Degree in Economics from The Ohio State University in 2001. Kevin is a recipient of a Presidential Citation, presented by E Gordon Gee; President of the Ohio State University, for contributions to the University. He is also working towards a Master of Science Degree in Business Administration.
Kevin is a lifetime member of St. James Lodge # 21 F. & A.A.Y.M, currently serving as the Lodge President. Kevin has overseen several fundraising projects contributing to local and national charities.
Having attended a charter school himself, he understands the need for a program like Millennium. Kevin has demonstrated a strong commitment to the Vision and Standards that have become a culture here at Millennium Community School.
Mr. Tim Davis, Vice President
Mr. Davis has been Board Member since 2007. He is an Adjunct Professor at Columbus State and an Outreach Coordinator at Columbus State Human Performance Center. Mr. Davis also helps with the Columbus State Men's Basketball team as strength and conditioning coach. He is active in the community serving as the treasurer of One In Christ Non-Denominational Church and coaches AAU basketball in his community.
Mrs. Yvonne Chambers, Secretary
Ms. Chambers is a resident of Columbus Ohio. She became a member of the School Board of Director in 2009. Ms. Chambers recently retired from Nationwide Insurance Company, where she was employed for 21 years in their Office of General Counsel. Ms. Chambers began her legal career as a Legal Services attorney, where she provided legal counsel to low-income individuals and families. Prior to her legal career, she was employed as Head Start Teacher and as a Social Worker with Stark County Children Services. Her experience in social services and law is a valuable asset to the School Board.
Mrs. Manika Williams, Board Member
Manika Williams, a graduate of Tuskegee University with a degree in Early Childhood Education, started her professional career as an officer in the Air Force. Among many positions, she was a key member of a multi-disciplinary inspection team responsible for identifying improvements needed to attain national accreditation with the National Association for the Education of Young children (NAEYC) for a child development center and youth center. She was also the Chief of Protocol (Public Relations) for the largest Air Force Base in Europe. After separating from the AF, she worked temporarily with Columbus City Schools and currently works in an early childhood initiative with a local nonprofit.
Her work is focused on improving the quality of early care and education programs in the community by assisting the programs in application to either NAEYC or SUTQ. She also partners with other local nonprofits to facilitate a parenting education program for at risk parents. She works with dozens of early care and education programs in the community as a mentor and coaches them through the process.
She is currently broadening her scope to include administration and leadership by completing her masters in Early Childhood Leadership from the University of Dayton. |
