Thank you for your interest in working at our school. Established in 1999, Millennium Community School is one of the oldest and most successful charters schools in Ohio. We service approximately 670 students ranging from K-5 making us the largest onsite elementary school in the state.
Millennium utilizes the Direct Instruction (DI) curriculum in Reading, Math, Spelling and Language. The goal of this program is to accelerate learning by maximizing efficiency in the design and delivery of instruction. This method of learning has been scientifically proven to be the best curriculum available for elementary students. After the first year at Millennium, 80% of all Kindergarten students are reading at or above first grade level.
We offer similar fundamental services found in traditional public schools such as transportation services, free and reduced breakfast/lunch programs (for those who qualify), art, music and physical education classes at Millennium. We believe that appropriate dress supports a positive learning environment, thus students are required to wear uniforms.
Millennium seeks to employ school personnel and administrators who believe there are no excuses for children failing to learn. All Teachers and Instructional Assistants are certified and highly qualified by the standards of the Ohio Department of Education. In addition to a teacher, kindergarten classrooms have full time instructional assistants (IA's) on hand; other classrooms have part-time IA's. The average classroom size is 25-30 students and are homogenously constructed. Many instructional groups consist of approximately 15-20 students. Full Special Education services are available as well. School is in session from 8:15 am to 3:45 pm. Instructional staff is scheduled from 8:15am -4:00pm.
